What was once the seedy part of San Francisco is getting two new hotels.

"Proper Hotels is making its debut at the Market Street site where the Renoir Hotel formerly stood. The 135-room hotel, which will include three ground-floor restaurants and a rooftop bar, is slated to open by year’s end."

"Meanwhile, Yotel, once said to be redeveloping the San Francisco Proper site, said last week that its first San Francisco hotel will be redeveloped out of the old Grant Building about a block away. That 203-hotel will be the chain’s first on the U.S. West Coast. A 2017 opening is planned."
