Hi All! First time ever posting in a forum, and i'm hoping i can get some help.

I received a letter in the mail stating that the car i rented from 11/11/16 thru 11/13/16 was damaged on the left bumper and the damage repair cost was $10,300. I have the rental agreement, as well as the receipt i received when i dropped off the car at the rental location. Car had no damage to it when i picked up and no damage when i returned the car. I did not receive any photo proof in the claim, or any statement saying what had happened, just a claim amount and an advisors name at Sedwick. How should i proceed?? Thanks everyone!

Did you take pictures of the car at pick up and drop off? We recommend doing that to protect yourself against claims like this.

Was the car inspected by a clerk when you dropped it off? A $10,000 repair bill would have been substantially noticeable damage that would have been mentioned by whoever inspected the car when you dropped it off.

We have a process- follow it exactly and you should get the claim dropped:

Hi Neil,

I did not take pictures (my mistake)
However the car was inspected at drop off and i was provided with a Receipt stating i dropped the car off, time and date, with the mileage that it was returned at and the full reading. My thoughts are exactly the same, i would have noticed any damage that was justified in being $10,000.
