On January 15, 2018, my 2015 Toyota Corolla was carjacked. The police case number is 04-1801-001207. The car was found and is now in impound as it is not drive-able. Also, I am now afraid to drive and do not want the car back. It is a leased car and I have 5 payments left (next due on Feb. 10). Do I still need to make these payments? What are my options?

this is why you have insurance - I presume you have submitted the claim to the carrier - the carrier will determine if the vehicle is a total loss.

As for whether you make your last 5 payments depends on many factors, including whether the carrier pays for the loss of the vehicle retroactive to theft [loss] date - and whether that triggers an early termination of the lease and if you are then liable for any 'gap.'

We cannot answer this for you without seeing the lease contract - and its a legal interpretation anyway which you will not get from this forum usually. . . .
