ask as told it's finally taking off, after lots of opposition from transfer companies, who saw themselves losing business & airports who saw themselves losing fees.

Have to get a group of 8 from Frisco to Vail-Eagle airport(EGE).

We hired a minivan from Hertz when group was only 6, which was going to be tight, but we travel light & thought if we get stuck, could always tie some bags on roof.

Anyway, 2 more starters, so no way can fit 8 people into a 7 seater. The 2 extras are not old enough to rent another car.

So looked at options.

Transfer companies no longer seem to provide transfers to EGE on a person basis. You have to charter a whole van which is expensive.

There are a few buses, but timings aren't good & messy, ie. get you to town of Eagle but not airport.

Uber seemed the obvious option, but apparently Uber aren't allowed on EGE property (some fight over fees), so I thought Uber could simply drop 2 or 3 people at airport entrance & they could simply walk the 200 metres or so. (how would airport even know if a Uber driver was dropping off at EGE anyway?)

Does anyone have any other suggestions ?

I've used Uber in the Denver area, worked just fine. Price quote for Frisco to EGE is about $87 for a regular UberX, $140 for an SUV (UberXL) that holds up to six people. So, with one regular and one XL, you'd be around $230.

Thanks

Was told not to mention EGE, as Ubers can't go into airport itself & some drivers scared off, so just say Eagle & then get dropped off at entrance to airport. We already have a minivan on non-refundable basis (always much cheaper that way)

Eagle County buses go directly to the EGE airport.

Call Colorado Mountain express-they run from DIA to Frisco and Vail. Also, call Peak One Express. They may be able to pick you up in Frisco and deliver to Vail Transportation Center where the Eagle CO buses leave from. The Eagle County bus schedules are online--they run on time barring snow (which has been happening this past week)

thanks but asked CME & they don't go between Frisco & Vail. Haven't tried Peak One Express. The eagle county bus timetable doesn't seem to be out for winter yet.

handy to know, if dollars are very tight, you can get a Uber from Frisco to Vail & then $4 bus from Vail to EGE. Much cheaper than hiring a car.

One other suggestion...
Since Frisco to Vail is only 30 minutes and Frisco to EGE is only 1 hour, while inconvenient, but you may simply make 2 trips.

Yes I used Uber last winter. I have a home in Vail and the parking is $25.00 per day. I wanted to see if it was cheaper to use UBER round trip and while that was over 6 months ago I do recall it was about a wash. I could travel to and from the mountain for about the same price as UBER and UBER also offered ski rack service at the same price. Now that the mountain has raised the price to $30.00 per day it's probably cheaper to use UBER but those prices didn't include the tip.

benefit: dropped off right at the mountain, don't have to walk from the parking garage. Also can wear ski boots to the mountain so more convenient

disadvantage - you have to wait for the ride home which was never a long wait

Some of the van services (e.g. Peak One, Summit Express, “CME” now called EpicExpress) pick,up and drop off from the Frisco Transportation Center. One of them must service EGE. Why not just change your van rental to larger? Uber from Frisco to Vail will not be inexpensive.
