Celebrity Cruise Lines voucher deadline

We have an $11,000 voucher at Celebrity, with a book and use by date of December 31, 2021. Today, Celebrity voluntarily wrote and extended that date to May 4, 2022. I suspect that the cancellation of cruises early in the year may have had some influence.

We have no beef with Celebrity; I'm just alerting the usual crew that the voucher use by dates may be changing.

Royal Caribbean has done the same. It’s actually nice seeing a company doing this voluntarily.

We have a voucher that has to be used by mid-April.

No. But often when one does it others follow.

Why not just book something by April for a distant cruise and then change it later so the credit doesn’t expire? They are booking 2022 now.
