Amazon.com closed my account, deny refund of gift card balance.

Of course i did contacted them by mail, phone and chat, first two was like you said sweet like a pie, but the last i was son angry for received another cis@amazon.com predeterminated mail, that i told to them that im going to publish this security breach on every important forum on the internet because how it is possible that someone managed to use my BLOCKED account to buy something, nobody on blocked accounts have the ability to buy or use their balance, so this must be a security breach or a glitch on their system, they must be responsible of this, their are just simply washing their hands and everyones BLOCKED accounts are comprimsed... They said theres is not unauthorized activity on my account!!!! how someone buy if i never was able to do it!! they admitted that the gift card balance was USED to place software downloads!!! they don't place downloads, they place Playstation gift cards!! that my balance is no longer available, so they can have my balance, someone steals it, and they can wash their hands like nothing happenned, im so angry at this point!!!

You need to find out who's account of your friends were compromised. I would look at the account your wife purchased those gift cards on. That person would have had an email with the card numbers and very well could have done something like this.

You need to talk to those around you because someone knows something.

what should know someone? Amazon must explain how can anybody do a buy with an Amazon.com locked account? How this person could reach to enter to my account through my user name and password? only me knows that information, theres no way that the account used to buy those gift cards from the very begginning knows my log in information.

Something isn't right here. What also makes me feel like something is wrong is Amazon telling you not to contact them again.

There is nothing we can do to help you. Our advice is to write to the executives
at the company involved. The more you are giving us the more this becomes suspicious. You need to either wait to hear from the Consumer departments you have written to or find out who of your friends has had their Amazon account canceled because your answer is there. And we can't get that for you.

All we can do is give you advise on how to proceed. We see these types of situations all the time. You have received the advise that we have. What more do you expect we can do?

- You have been advised to use the contacts this website provides to write polite emails requesting assistance from Amazon. More than likely this probably will not help further as they have told you they do not want to communicate with you further.

- Have the friend that purchased the gift cards, work reimbursement through their account.

- Write the attorney general in your state (or the state of your residence when in the US).

- File with the small claims court for the amount of your gift cards.

In any case, I would recommend not doing business with Amazon.com any further and move on with your life.

We are certainly not advocates of Amazon. The last thing we want is to see someone ripped off but even Elliott has not been successful in getting Amazon to change their stance. There is only so much we can do. Our advice is for you to do as much investigating as you can which is contacting your friends with the Amazon accounts that may have been cut off as well and you haven't shown us you have done that. SOMEONE you know has an account that has been locked down as well.

At this point your best option is what you have already done with writing to the Attorney General. You have to sit back and wait for the results of your complaints that you filed. The AG is the one best fit to assist you in getting answers.

Maintain copies of the emails you sent to every executive at Amazon and the emails you received back. But I would alsonot go any further in contacting their Customer Service as they have told you because they may turn their lawyers over to you for harassment.

Let the consumer affairs and AG do their jobs and investigate on your behalf. They are the ones that can help you.

In my opinion, you would basically need to take a look at all of the personal information you supply to Amazon. Name, address, credit card number, birthday, phone number, shipping addresses, etc. Somewhere in that list of personal information is the link to the account that was blocked.

Henry, Carlos hasn't been back to this site since Dec. 9. He probably will not read this and by no response we assume he may not have been successful.

You should try the suggestions in the thread although they may not work. We have but been very successful in trying to get answers on this problem.

I do not know where to post my issue but this exact same thing happened to me! I have not only a $200 Gift card on my Amazon account, but also subscriptions to Amazon Prime as well as Amazon music, both of which are now inaccessible by my email, log in details. All I have been told is that they could not verify the address to the CC on file in my account?? which is absurd because it IS MY DAM ADDRESS & INFO! Can somebody please help me as well?
My log in email was the same as my email on this site. Who can you even contact to get help with this issue at Amazon, by the way??

I need help please. Amazon has withheld 443.01 from my gift card balance and all my gift card that I added to my account was purchased with them by my aunt. She called them and also called her cc company amex and both are saying everything is fine with the gift cards. But from my end they are withholding 443.00. The cards are no fraudulent so I dont k oo why they did that and the agent cant give me an answer. My account is still active but I'm worried they might close it and I have some stuff to be delivered to me.

Did your aunt buy the card for you and you added it to your account? Did she buy the card from Amazon directly?

What is Amazon saying the reason for withholding the money is? Did you spend part of it already and they froze the account? They usually ask for proof of the gift card purchase.
