There are many places I travel where you have to pay the hotel taxes in cash in person.
Have you talked to your credit card company?
A credit card dispute in this case might be considered friendly fraud. The price was listed clearly in the listing and OP agreed to it by booking and admitted she didn’t read it. Again- the time to question that fee was before booking.
