    Lowes : Wrong paint

I looked up Lowe's paint satisfaction policy and it looks like they're pretty reasonable as long as you purchased paint there. I feel bad that you got bad advice from the people you hired.

    Lowes : Wrong paint

Maybe it's just me but I don't think it's fair that the contractor uses Lowe's as a samples lab. I feel bad for Lowe's. They spent time and materials to make 2 samples for people who had no intention of buying paint there. Essentially Lowe's was unknowingly doing a favor. And the reward for...

    help during disrupted travel

My travel agent contracts with a service that handles calls when we're on a trip and her office is closed. We had to call it once and they were able to take care of the problem easily.

    Scam Customers

Let us know what happens. Be prepared for Essilor to say "not our lens" because it's looking more and more like those aren't Transitions.

I agree with Neil. I looked at their reviews and the word "scam" came up a lot. I'm sorry this happened to you.

I'm losing resolution when I try to enlarge the photos of the receipts but they don't look like what I'm talking about. When you get a pair of glasses and insurance is involved you usually get something like Frames V2020 $250 Lenses V2201 $150 Photochromic tint V2744 $150 and I'm not seeing...

You can register Transitions lenses online with Essilor with the code on the Certificate of Authenticity which I'm doubting our OP got. I love the Transitions lenses they make for driving but I've never registered mine.

Do you have an itemized receipt for the entire pair of glasses? Did you decide on the Transitions later and they added it on and that's why there's a single charge for it?

I hope I'm wrong but that occurred to me as well. If they're passing off regular tints as Transitions, I'd expect Essilor to shut that down and hopefully give our OP more leverage in dealing with GVS.

Forgot to write that sometimes the photochromic particles are in the lens material and for sure the local lab can't do anything to change that.

    Scam Customers

Something's fishy. The photochromic (color changing) layer sits on top of the lens followed by least 2 more layers on top of that. Transitions lenses come from Essilor with all the layers already there. The local lab can't just strip off the layers and start over or make the photochromic layer...

    Scam Customers

I'm an optometrist on the west coast so I had to look up GVS Vision and it looks like they're a vision insurance company. Were they the ones who actually sold you the glasses? Or did they help you find a provider who did? In either case, Transitions lenses should get darker than that in bright...

Travel Services International vacation membership scam

I'm sorry you got scammed. These businesses suck. This won't help you now but I hope the math here will help the next time you come across an offer. As consumers we often don't think of 10% discounts as a big deal but it is to a business. Let's say ABC Widget Company sells widgets for $100...

Emergency surgery caused us to have to cancel our river cruise with Viking - no help given

Diana, I know you probably can't see it yet but you may have dodged a bullet. Can you imagine if the heart problems had come up during the cruise? Most US medical policies don't cover you abroad. If you have such a policy and no travel insurance, you would have missed at least part of the...

    Ticketing Scam in Shanghai

Here's another way to think about it. Booking the whole trip on one ticket is a form of "insurance". If you miss the connecting flight, they put you on the next one. If you book separate tickets, many hours-long layovers are your "insurance" giving you a cushion in case problems arise. In this...
