Company you have a question or comment about: American Airlines

I was flying from Pittsburgh International to DFW Dallas-Fort Worth on the 2nd of May it was kind of a hectic day I work in the Pennsylvania Ohio area some things happen with my ride getting to the airport last minute I get there everybody was really wonderful get to the checkout deal it was a lady there nicest lady ever met she really went out of her way to help me with everything she can probably see that I was nervous and I was in a hurry and then worried about missing the flight actually come to the airport in my semi because I was out of options. I went through the screen process which ended up being very thorough search that was nice about it at least and let me know everything they were going to do it's kind of braces but on the other hand some bad ships happened and I understand we might have to give up some of our comfort for safety. Okay real board the flight I'm the very last one getting on there still people down the aisle nachos the hold up closer to the cockpit until people clear it out I didn't want to be jammed up in there with all them people my anxiety is already high because of the the day I have had. I was happy though I've been working straight for right at 57 days and I was ready for break the flight attendants for the worst I've ever seen in my life they were rude to me they were commenting on how I was scaring people I've been down the aisle he he would bring it up he just treating me disrespectfully I'll let it go because I didn't care what you thought kind of bothering me that he kept bringing up that I was making people nervous I'm a nervous person so I understand I'm different you can say. So ends up being that the verbally rude to me out in the open in front of people they passed me up with the food cart asking for some water they gave me a warm water poured in a cup this is 5 hours up after they pass me because I wasn't paying attention in the passing the first time anyways I didn't look to water everybody else got ice and pop me everything else she had me warm water this is the other attendant so I told her I didn't want it she trying to block me from putting it in her cart trash and told me to go sit down well I did. I'm the only one in that row have all three sheets to myself so I lay back and put my feet up the flight attendant comes back and smacks my shoe and tells me to get my damn feet off the armrest which I didn't have my feet on the armrest. I made sure I didn't obviously didn't have them after he said it it pissed me off that he was so aggressive about it and Xxxxxx rude I have a short temper I'm not going to lie the rest of the story is not going to get on me but it is what it is they have a level of professionalism did they should stand by because of the job they're at if they would have practice at level professionalism this would have never went anywhere just got yelled at me he bring his piece of paper and told me to read it and he's putting it in my face so I don't want to read it I ain't done nothing wrong I ain't reading whatever you got so I went ahead and took it from them and was going to put it in my pocket and he starts yelling at me no you're going to read it right now and he's scaring the people around us everybody's on the edge now he reaches up and smacks my wrist snatches that piece of paper out of my hand and takes off back towards the cockpit but sometimes yelling at me like I'm a kid I told him if he puts his hands on me again I'm going to beat his xxx actually I told him I'm going to smoke his face I was sitting down when I said it and he was in my area again telling me that I was going to jail we were laying in the flight right there we weren't going to finish the flight everybody on the whole plane. Up roared he said that they would be federal agents waiting on me in that I was going to jail I apologize to the people on the plane at this point the whole xxxx planes mad at me it's very uncomfortable I didn't xxxx sure didn't want to cause anybody anytime lost I feel like it was something that was supposed to go to jail for if it was that serious I don't think you should have yelled it so everybody can hear it get everybody riled up and then you got on a PA system and proceeded to say we were going to land because of a problem we're having everybody already knew cuz he yelled it I guess he didn't decided that if somebody would sit next to me we could go ahead and finish the flight two girls that were sitting in front of me and one guy that was on the right side of me straight across the aisle said they would sit with me he was one of police officer police officer ended up coming up to sit with me there wasn't another problem the rest of the flight security came on very professionally one guy I followed him off the plane there was about seven cops in the walkway outside the plane door they said let's just be professional follow us up out of this place and we'll talk about what's going on you're probably fixing to be arrested are you going to give us any problems I I said no. The officer that I was talking to said he wasn't really sure of all the details but it was a breaching National Security and it would be dealt with by the FBI and that they was on the way I told him what happened you said no that's not what we're here for I heard some talking about I was taking some unauthorised pictures, then all the sudden the lady from American Airlines come over and said we are sorry for everything that happened and because the FBI's involved we do have to wait and there's going to be a process they have to release the situation everything's going to be fine there's some people on the plane that spoke up for you now we have two sides of the story I guess that they told him the man was out of line and they treat me very unprofessional since the moment I got on the plane I think it's cuz I'm outspoken them a little bit different I'm kind of hyper. 3 hours later I got cleared by the FBI and arrange another ride to my final destination was three and a half hours away but it ended up being one in the morning by the time I left. I didn't get to speak with anybody else they said it would be best if they escorted me to my baggage claim and then I go straight out the airport doors they weren't aggressive about it anymore they didn't try to stay close to me they just wanted everybody to feel safe I guess because everything wasnt spoken out all the facts weren't yelled across the airplane this time and they wanted people to feel safe I understood that.

What's your desired resolution? Maybe they should do some training with her flight attendants and teach him how to deal with a situation maybe talk to somebody instead of making assumptions and judging people. If a man can't keep his hands off somebody and his temper is bad enough to where he can't control his self because he's frustrated he probably shouldn't work there but we all have bad days maybe they could move him to cleaning bathrooms or washing windows I'm not sure that's what I would do with them. I think he took it upon himself to over-exaggerate the problem because of the way he acted when he made the call or however they do it I think it went to look too far they should have levels of severity before they try to charge somebody with a federal crime that would ruin the rest of their lives if those people wouldn't get off that plane and spoke up for me I would have been sitting in a federal jail waiting on court I'm sure of it that's scary

What's the value of your claim (in US $)? 500

First of all- this is nearly impossible to read. There are no paragraphs and there is so much narrative that isn’t necessary that it was very difficult to figure out what happened.

Second- if you used the language you used here on any of the staff on the flight I am not surprised that you were arrested. Your aggression in the story was palpable.

What did you do when you first got on the plane
that caused the flight attendants to say you were frightening people?

You say this “aisle nachos the hold up closer to the cockpit until people clear it out I didn't want to be jammed up in there with all them people my anxiety is already high because ”

What are aisle nachos? You admit your anxiety was high but you had to have done something to cause the flight attendants to say you were scaring people.

And even if you have an aisle to yourself- you shouldn’t be spreading out and laying down in seats or putting your feet on them.

From your letter- I don’t see anything the flight crew did wrong- it seems you got on the plane with an issue and you set the tone for the rest of the flight. If you had quiet gotten on and went to your seat I can pretty much promise you would have been treated better.

Everyone is anxious about flying but you can become your own worst enemy by behaving aggressively - you are lucky they didn’t escort you off the plane before it left the ground.

Knowing how your letter came off- if you want to take this up with the airline- we have company contacts on top of our pages. You can use them to write to the airline and tell them your story. But if you do, I highly recommend you totally re-write this and state facts only in a bullet format and be polite. If you curse in your letter to them I can guarantee it goes in the garbage.

I am sorry I have to agree with Neil.

Mentioning that one has a short temper is an admission of lack of self control.

Also OP admitted missing the beverage cart the first time — how is that the fault of the airline? And the flight is 3 hours — how is there a comment that it was “5 hours” up?

Threatening violence against a flight crew is almost a guarantee to have the police called.

Airline staff should be professional but passengers need to be civil.

I do not see any fault with the airline staff and I do not fly AA.

I understand how it was hard to read I was trying to put a lot in quick but anyways I talked to the airline and the report was wrote that none of the incident even happened they said the problem was I was a security risk so what does that tell you for some reason they didn't mention anything that happened on the plane they didn't even have me wrote up as an offencive and yeah maybe I shouldn't have cussed but I'm a grown man and he put his hands on me what would you have done I'm proud of myself for just letting him know that I would defend myself instead of anything else I figured out what they meant by scaring the passengers that was saying the wing was flapping talking to 2 other guys we were joking about several things the customer that said he was scared was a man that was going to hire me for job back in PA he wanted a business class seat and he got it so should be flight attendant have carried it on and kept on bringing up over and over that I scared someone when it wasn't even true and then treat me like crap over it disrespect me and harass me about breeding some piece of paper snatch and out of my hand and yelling at me like I'm some kid and then yelling on the plane and scaring everybody on there getting on the intercom and saying they were laying in the plane right now like it was a damn terrorist attack I don't think so

Still impossible to read, I am afraid. Your last two messages - 12 lines - are one sentence and not even a period at the end. You need to break it down to bullet points or at least short sentences if you want people to read your complaint.

I can’t follow it either, and I’m used to the writing of students.

Please use punctuation, white space, and break up what happened to you. Even if you are speaking into your device, you have the ability to add periods, extra lines, and carriage returns so that we can read it, rather than a giant wall of text with little capitalization.

Here are the handful of voice dictation commands that work on Android:

Punctuation: Period (.), comma (,), question mark (?), exclamation or exclamation point (!)
Line spacing: Enter or new line, new paragraph

I’m sure there are more, but I could grab these easily.

Here are the voice dictation commands that work on an iPhone or iPad. We tried to arrange them in a quick list you can easily skim, but you can also find the list in longer form on Apple’s website:

Punctuation: Apostrophe (‘), open bracket ([) and close bracket (]), open parenthesis (() and close parenthesis ()) open brace ({) and close brace (}), open angle bracket (<) and close angle bracket (>), colon :)), comma (,), dash (-), ellipsis or dot dot dot (…), exclamation mark (!), hyphen (–), period or point or dot or full stop (.), question mark (?), quote and end quote (“), begin single quote and end single quote (‘), semicolon (;)
Typography: Ampersand (&), asterisk (*), at sign (@), backslash (\), forward slash (/), caret (^), center dot (·), large center dot (•), degree sign (°), hashtag or pound sign (#), percent sign (%), underscore (_), vertical bar (|).
Currency: Dollar sign ($), cent sign (¢), pound sterling sign (£), euro sign (€), yen sign (¥)
Emoticons: Cross-eyed laughing face (XD), frowny face :)-(), smiley face :)-)), winky face (;-))
Intellectual property: Copyright sign (©), registered sign (®), trademark sign (™)
Math: Equals sign (=), greater than sign (>), less than sign (<), minus sign (-), multiplication sign (x), plus sign (+)
Line spacing: new line, new paragraph, tab key

I strongly recommend you learn to use them so that you can voice to text and produce a more easily readable document.

Thanks!

No one likes to be criticized but your response is way out of proportion to the criticism offered. If anything you have shown why AA cabin crew did nothing wrong in calling the police.

Punctuation is taught in kindergarten and first grade so it is not arrogant to suggest someone use it.

And if you want to throw a string of curse words and insults at me, go ahead. I have heard them all and they have no effect on me. Your reaction and choice of words say more about you than it does about the person you are insulting.

The people who are responding are volunteers. There is no reason to get upset with them. If we, as the volunteers, cannot read or understand your posts, it is near impossible to help you. You are not going to receive help if you cannot re-write your post to include grade school grammar and punctuation. The posts above were simply trying to help you do so. I am sorry that you feel anyone was/is being arrogant, most are just trying to help you come to a resolution with your problem.

If you truly believe you are due compensation from AA, then please re post with the above suggestions and we will help you formulate a plan in corresponding with AA. However, if you continue to call the volunteers names and strike out at them when they are offering constructive criticism, then I doubt any of the volunteers here will want to help.
