Thank you to the creator of this email,
I am stuck in similar situation , I was charged some 1500 euros and then after some back n forth and legal threats from the SIXT, and the collection agency. I denied the claims ans asked for proof ans I was told that I just need to pay half of it that is 750 for out of court settlement as I deny the damages.

This sounds scam to me, how come they are ready to settle out of court n that too half the amount now that I asked for proof , I do not want to pay them a single penny now after they harassed me over for couple of months. I am consulting a lawyer this week I am ready to go as far as I can to make sure I dont have to pay anything. I have the pictures before I picked up and dropped the car without any damage.

Any one can help me on what should be my next response that will give them indication of me going any length to make sure I dont pay unnecessary money. On top of this they are my company's official partner company for car rentals. Goodness

Looking for a quick reply as I have to send email in a couple of days,.

Thanks again for all of your help and advice
