LOST TRAVELERS CHECKS BUT AMEREX DOES NOT ANSWER

    IT IS NOW MORE THAN 8 MONTHS SINCE I FIRST CALLED
    AMERICAN EXPRESS ABOUT LOST TRAVELRS CHECKS.
    I GAVE THEM EVERYTHING THEY ASKED FOR:
    AS I AM TRAVELLING OUTSIDE THE USA,
    I GAVE THEM SCANNED COPIES OF PASSPORT, THEIR
    CLAIM FORM FILLED OUT ABOUT THE LOST TRAVELERS CHECKS
    THE NUMBERS OF THE TRAVELERS CHECKS
    AND THE RECEIPTS OF PURCHASE OF THEM.

    THEY PROMISED IN THE FIRST 2 WEEKS OF CALLING THAT THEY WOULD
    REFUND THE $1000 TOTAL TO MY BANK ACCOUNT. THEY HAVE DONE
    NOTHING, DO NOT EVEN ANSWER NOR GIVE REASONS FOR DELAY.
    THIS IS URGENT SITUATION AS I AM GETTING MEDICAL TREATMENTS
    IN EUROPE AND NEED THE REFUND FOR URGENT HEALTH REASONS.
    THEIR OFFICES HAVE ALL BEEN CLOSED IN ENTIRE USA WITH NEW
    MANAGEMENT ABOUT A YEAR OR SO AGO, AND THE OFFICE FROM INDIA
    WHICH NOW HANDLES ALL THOUSANDS OF SUCH CLAIMS FOR BOTH
    LOST CREDIT CARDS AND TRAVELERS CHECKS DOES NOT ANSWER.

    We have company contacts on top of our pages. Get the contacts for Amex and write to Customer Service. Give them a week to reply. If they don’t reply or help, write to the first executive shown. Repeat weekly going up the executIve chain.

    I’m betting you will get an answer- let us know.

    THAT THERE ARE
    ==SEVERAL THOUSAND== COMPLAINTS SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THE SAME
    METHODS AND SPECIFICALLY ABOUT AMERICAN EXPRESS,
    BECAUSE THIS GOV. DEPT.
    HAS TAKEN AMEX TO COURT REPEATEDLY AND FINED THEM A TOTAL
    OF MORE THAN $250 PLUS ORDERED THEM TO REFUND AND OR
    REPAY HIDDEN FEES ON THEIR CREDIT CARDS.

    THIS USA DEPT. ALSO CONSIDERS AND STATES CLEARLY THAT NOT
    ONLY IS AMERICAN RANKED WORST OF ALL USA FINANCIAL CREDIT
    COMPANIES,
    BUT THAT ANY ATTEMPT TO ACTUALLY MAIL TO THEM IS NOT ONLY
    HOPELESS,
    BUT THE CFPB COURT RULINGS THEMSELV ES (YOU CAN FIND ALL
    OF THEIR COURT DECISIONS AGAINST AMERICAN EXPRESS ON
    THE CFPB WEBSITE
    ALONG WITH 120,000 COMPLAINTS AND A THOUSAND MORE COMING
    EVERY WEEK TO THEM.,
    THAT AS FAR AS ANY REQUEST BY THEM TO POSTAL MAIL THEM
    ANY REQUESTS, IT NEVER GETS ANSWERED BY ANY OF THE
    THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINANTS
    AMEX HAS CLOSED DOWN ALL OFFICES IN USA, AND ALL MUST
    GO TO ONLY AN OFFICE IN INDIA WHICH NEVER RESPONDS, AND
    I HAVE IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS OF LOOKING AT SIMILAR GOV.
    INVESTIGATIONS OF AMEX, THAT THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS HAVE
    DONE EVERYTHING REQUESTED OF THEM,
    FOR LOST TRAVELERS CHECKS AND NEVER GET A REFUND, MANY FOR
    MORE THAN A YEAR OF DELAYS,
    AS FAR AS POSTAL MAILING TO THEIR ONLY OFFICE LEFT IN THE
    USA OUTSIDE THEIR NY HEADQUARTERS,
    THAT IS A BANK CALLED CENTURION BANK IN UTAH,
    THAT THEY ARE SO UNTRUSTWORTHY IN NEVER REPLYING TO MAIL,
    THAT
    CFPB ITSELF IN THE ACTUAL CONSENT DECREE DECISONS (5 SEPARATE
    CASES AGAINST THEM IN 5 YEARS, TOTALLY MORE THAN 250 MILLION
    DOLLARS AND DEFRAUDING 290,000 CUSTOMERS, THAT
    CFPB ITSELF IN THEIR ACTUAL COURT DECISIONS TELLS AMEX
    THAT WHEN PAYING BOTH FINES
    ACTUAL 5 DIFFERENCE FINES INCLUDE SEPARATE PENALTY FINES
    TO CFPB , FDIC, FEDERAL RESERVE AND THE FTC.
    BUT
    SINCE AMEX MAKES PROFITS OF 50 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR, THEIR
    ATTITUDE IS PLAIN AND CLEAR, THE PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR THEY

    THAT THE "RELIABILITY" OF =ANY= POSTAL MAIL TO THEIR ONLY
    USA OFFICE LEFT THAT HAS NOT BEEN CLOSED DOWN, THE ONE
    IN UTAH,
    NEVER RESPONDS SO THE WORDING OF THE CFPB FED. GOV.
    AGENCY ITSELF, SAYS THAT WHEN AMEX IS READY TO PAY THE
    MILLIONS IN FINES
    THAT THEY MUST PAY "MY OTHER COMPANIES EXPRESS MAIL"
    NOT BY POSTAL AT ALL.
    I ENCOURAGE YOU TO READ AND REVIEW THE CFPB WEBSITE.

    CFPB DESC RIBES AMEX METHODS AS "VIOLATIONS AT EVERY
    STAGE OF THE GAME" OF ALL OF THEIR FINANCIAL PRODUCTS.

    AND AS FAR AS THE NY HEADQUARTERS THEY ALSO PLAY THE GAME
    OF ENCOURAGING ME TO CALL THEM.
    I HAVE OVER SEVERAL MONTHS CALLED ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK,
    LEFT MESSAGES DOZENS OF TIMES,
    THEY NEVER RETURN THE CALLS AT THE NY HQ.

    YOU WILL FIND HUNDREDS OF LEGAL FIRMS DEFENDING CUSTOMERS

    CHECKS AND UNFORTUNATELY THIS AMAZING RECORD OF REFUNDING
    ALMOST NOTHING AT ALL TO THOUSANDS ENTITLED TO SUCH REFUNDS,
    UNTIL A COURT ORDER FORCES THEM,
    MEANS THAT I HAVE MORE CHANCES OF WINNING THE LOTTERY THAN
    GETTING THE REFUND PROMISED AND GUARANTEED BY AMERICAN

    BANK OR TRAVEL AGENCY STILL SELLING TRAVELERS CHECKS WITH
    SUCH A PROMISE, SENDING THEM COPIES BY EMAIL OF THE COURT
    ACTIONS AGAINST AMEX AND YET TO NO AVAIL.

    YOU CAN DO A SEARCH ON CFPB OF THE 100,000 COMPLAINTS FOR
    ANY OF THE MAJOR FINANCIAL PRODUCTS COMPANIES AND AMEX
    IS BY FAR THE WORST.
    AS FOR CHANGING FROM PHONE CALLS, TO EITHER EMAIL OR
    POSTAL MAIL, AMEX CONSTANTLY ENCOURAGES PHONE CALLS
    ==INSTEAD== OF CORRESPONDENCE BUT THE COMMENTARY
    WITH THE LEGAL ISSUES STATES REPEAEDLY THAT THIS IS A FAVORITE
    TACTIC, BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RECORD THE PHONE
    CALLS [THOUGH AMEX IS ALLOWED TO RECORD THEM...BUT THEY

    TO CHANGE THEIR ANSWERS,

    HOWEVER WHEN I BEGAN READING HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS
    AT CFPB ABOUT THE SAME SITUATION, LOSS OF AMEX TC CHECKS,
    I BEGAN TO REALIZE IT IS ENDEMIC AND MASSIVE AVOIDANCE ON THEIR
    PART.
    SHE IS HOPING TO GET A LARGE ENOUGH GROUP OF SIMILAR
    COMPLAINANTS TO PRESS FOR THE FOLLOWING:

    THAT ANY TIME A FINANCIAL COMPANY DECLARES ITS RIGHT TO
    RECORD YOUR CONVERSATION,
    THAT YOU SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY BE GIVEN THE SAME RIGHT TO
    MAKE YOUR OWN RECORDING.

    THIS WOULD GREATLY REDUCE THE FABRICATING, AND CONSTANTLY
    CHANGING TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE SAME PRODUCTS,
    AND OTHER AVOIDANCE TECHNIQUES, AS YOU WOULD THEN HAVE
    THE POSSIBILITY OF USING YOUR RECORDING AS FUTURE EVIDENCE
    AGAINST THEM.

    HEARINGS RE AMEX STATING THAT EVEN THEY AT CFPB CANNOT RELY
    ON POSTAL AS AMEX HAS A FAVORITE TACTIC WITH THEIR MILLIONS
    OF AMEX CREDIT CARD HOLDERS, THAT THE PAYMENTS MUST BE
    MAILED EACH MONTH, AND OF COURSE
    AMEX DECLARES THEY ARE
    SO VERY OFTEN
    LATE IN ARRIVING
    AND THEREFORE THEIR AMEX CARD FEES
    KEEP GOING UP AND UP ENDLESSLY.

    JUST A FEW BITS OF ADVICE TO OTHERS HERE.
    WHEN YOU SEE HOW FEW COMPLAINANTS ON THIS MATTER
    SUCCEED EVEN AFTER A YEAR OR MORE AND STILL NO REFUND
    THAT CHANCES LOOK VERY SLIM.

    You actually are not answering our questions and this might be why you aren't getting a response from AMEX.

    Did you write to every single one of the executives we have listed on our company contacts on top of the page?

    A simple yes or no is all we need. We are also successful at helping consumers because we advise you to only use e-mail so you have written proof of what is said.

    It is very difficult to read what you are saying because you are typing in caps, which implies yelling, and you keep adding a lot of information we don't need to know.

    The key to a successful appeal is keeping it simple and stating only facts. The facts are you lost travelers checks and have not had them replaced.

    AMEX has to make sure they haven't already been paid and then should be able to refund you. Please use our company contacts and write to the executives one at a time and state FACTS ONLY. It discourages anyone reading your letters with all this extra "stuff" you are adding.

    1. Did they provide you a case number when you called in to obtain your refund?
    2. Do you still have the serial numbers of the lost travelers checks?
    3. Are you located in the US and able to receive a refund check?

    Final question: When you call in to check on the status of your refund, what do they tell you? Please be specific.

    WRITE- do not call, each executive one at a time and tell them you filed a claim for lost travelers checks on XX/xx and still have not received a refund and can he please help.

    Start with Greg and give him a week to reply. Move up the chain once a week.

    Don’t add all that extra junk - just that you haven’t received the refund.

    Several things would help your case greatly. Use regular punctuation, using all capital letters is annoying to the reader. Your story should be told concisely and unemotionally. It might be helpful to make a list of the facts in chronological order. Following the instructions on how to be reimbursed for lost checks is important - if you're to use the internet, don't be making phone calls as well. Being reimbursed for lost checks is pretty straightforward - there must be an issue somewhere that is being obfuscated by all the capital letters and unclear messages. I doubt if AmEx is reading it all.

    FOR ALL OF AMERICAN EXPRESS FINANCIAL PRODUCTS.

    TO CANCEL LOST TRAVELERS CHECKS AT ALL!

    AS THE CALL, IMMEDIATELY CANCELS ALL THE
    RELEVENT CHECK NUMBERS SO THAT NO ONE CAN
    CASH LOST CHECKS WHO DOES NOT OWN THEM IN
    THE FIRST PLACE.

    NOT SO WITH AMERICAN EXPRESS, IF YOU DO MAKE THE

    YEARS! AND NO REFUND HAS BEEN MADE TO THEM BY THIS DESIGNATED OFFICE IN INDIA APPOINTED BY THE NY OFFICE FOR THIS PURPOSE.

    BUT TO MAKE THINGS EVEN WORSE THE INDIA OFFICE OFTEN SUDDENLY DECIDES THAT EVEN THEIR OFFICE WILL NOT ACCEPT EMAIL ANYMORE AND THEY DO NOT GIVE YOU A REASON,,
    I HAVE NOT GOTTEN A REPLY FROM THEM IN 8 MONTHS, AFTER SENDING THEM ALL THE INFO THEY NEEDED TO MAKE A SIMPLE AND CLEAR AND PROMPT
    REFUND.

    LETS TAKE A BREAK ON THIS.
    MANY PEOPLE BECOME SENSITIVE ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY THAT OCCASIONALLY A LARGE CORPORATION MAY ACTUALLY HAVE A DELIBERATE SERIES OF METHODS LIKE THESE, TO INCREASE THEIR PROFITS
    BY AVOIDING THESE REFUNDS.

    I don’t care what they told you in
    India on the phone about writing. You came here for help and our advice was already stated in Post # 2 - start writing to the executives one by one. That’s how we do it.

    If you don’t follow our instructions we can’t assist you.

    Please STOP with the capital letters! Incredibly difficult to read anything you have to say. I don’t Care your reason for the Capitalization but it’s so Off Putting you are sabotaging your own case. Short, sweet and to the point, no extra info and no capital letters!

    A few notes: All Caps is considered shouting on the internet, plus it's incredibily hard to read.
