Hindsight is 20/20. It's just frustrating that the rental agreement notes damage to the vehicle in that same area, but the employees are adamant that they would have notated the condition differently if it was already in that state at the beginning of the rental.

State Farm has requested a copy of my rental agreement and seems to be wanting to investigate this from their perspective, so this may not be over after all...
