I recently bought a $45 amazon gift card from a local Walgreen. Next day (which is today) I place the gift card funds onto the account and everything is shipped. Something tells me to check my account and when I do, I am locked out. So I check my email and it says

Hello,

There was a problem processing your order. You will not be able to access your account or place orders with us until we confirm your information.

You can help us resolve this issue by replying to this message with the billing name, address, and phone number registered to your card. Please reply from the email address registered to your Amazon.com account.

Once we have this information, we will reply within 12-24 hours.

If needed, update your information with the card issuer.

For your security, we restrict access to your billing details to a team of account specialists. Our Customer Service team cannot access these details or provide you with more information on this issue. They can only verify that we sent this request.

We ask that you not open new accounts as any order you place may be delayed, and your customer experience may be adversely affected.

Sincerely,

Amazon.com

The card was totally valid so I don't see the issue so either i need a refund or else.

Yes I have had issues with amazon accounts. They locked atleast 4 of my accounts for no reason. I used all valid info.
There is your problem- buying another card doesn’t help if they have flagged you. They usually will not budge.

If you feel your account has been flagged for no reason, I would suggest you write to your State Attorney General and file a complaint. Let Amazon Report the the AG why you have been flagged.

Chris just write a story about this:

they sent me this email below

Hello,

We have closed your Amazon.com account and canceled all open orders. Any new accounts you open will be closed.

We took these actions because our records show that this account is related to another account that was closed by Amazon.

Due to the proprietary nature of our business, we are unable to discuss other accounts with you.

Sincerely,

Account Specialist

I would scan the front and back of the gift card and the original receipt showing the purchase, and send that with your reply. That will reinforce that you are purchasing with legitimate funsd.

Amazon locked you out b/c they dont want you as a customer

This is a huge Red Flag? Why do you or did you have 4 Amazon accounts. I’ve have just 1 for the last 8 yrs. Never a problem, used gift cards on occasion purchased at the Albertsons grocery store down the street (no issues).
But you have had 4 Accts All closed? Do you run some type of business? Buy and sell, there is something about your activities that has raised Amazon’s suspicions, other users at same address, lots of returns or reports of stolen items not delivered.... amazon believes something is fishy, and 4 closed Accts is a very big clue!

I don’t know if I’d quite put it that way - if they have closed 4 accounts, you did something somewhere that has targeted if you continued to open accounts after having your account suspended four times- something is wrong. Buying gift cards and trying to continue using them is not going to work to- they are very savvy.

I would take the card and receipt back to where you purchased and see if they will give you a refund.

This reinforces all the card issues we have had here- there has always been in underlying problem with the card or the person who had the card. Look at the other threads we have and you will see - every thread is similar to yours.

Fraud is a huge issue with gift cards and Amazon takes no prisoners. There was something that happened for four accounts being closed.

I didnt mean to suggest that Amazon was locking your account in a direct effort to send you the message that they dont want you as a customer. However, because of your past issues, you will always encounter the same issues when you try to use Amazon.

"Yes I have had issues with amazon accounts. They locked atleast 4 of my accounts for no reason. I used all valid info. " Therein lies the problem. "at least 4 accounts for no reason". Maybe it was 10 accounts? 6 accounts? The poster only says at least 4. All were in fact valid and cancelled for no reason. Amazon, or any business, isn't in the habit of cancelling multiple customer accounts when there is no reason. Seems like the poster never adequately resolved any of the issues with his multiple prior cancelled accounts, but now "I need my gift card refunded". I doubt any suggestions anyone on here has for the poster will help, since he has done nothing wrong and it is all Amazon's fault. Until he takes some personal responsibility to resolve whatever issues Amazon has with him, I doubt he will see any happy resolution. Instead of listening to the advocates on this sites suggestions, he feels it is better to simply be a "right" fighter. Listen to these folks here.. they know of what they speak!!!! SMH

This is a real shame. But common sense tells me that there's a very big story behind this incident. Why would you continue to do business with an entity that has closed four of your accounts in the past? Why buy gift cards in the first place?

I think we need a special task force to construct polite but firm replies to people who have trouble with gift cards. It just never ends ... and this one was the strangest. I mean, FOUR accounts closed?
Which generally means there is more to the story than we are told. From all the cases we have seen here, I believe I haven’t seen one that was closed by Amazon where something odd wasn’t being done.
