Dear Sir: I am writing you in regard to a Chrysler 200, model year 2012. This car was purchased as a used car and we found out there was a problem with the heating system. Heat was available only on one side of the car. The car has only 16,400 miles.on it. We had the car repaired at a cost of $1,096.30. It is our understanding that Chrysler Corp. has known about this problem but has done nothing to correct the problem. There is no way that a car this new and with so relatively few miles should develop a problem of this magnitude. The heater core had to be changed as well as thermostats. Changing a heater core is no small matter as you probably know. If anyone has encountered a resolution with Chrysler on this issue, we would be grateful to hear any advice on the matter.

You can work through the dealer to ask Chrysler for a "goodwill" gesture to cover the repair. That is how we had to do it for our issue which was not covered by a recall.

If you had the work done as the dealer and it ever becomes a recall, they will reimburse you at that time. Again, that is what we were told when we encountered a strange issue for our Chrysler product.
