    Wedding Trip Turned Nightmare

Hi @LeeM, yes, I used all the help and resources I got from you all as well as contacting the news stations and received an email from NBC Universal who wanted to publish my story before resolution was received. But I told them the matter has been handled to my satisfactory. So, it will not be...

Oh I see. Yes, I would love to see my story on the blog so that other travelers can learn from my experience.

    Wedding Trip Turned Nightmare

Thanks, Neil. Yes, DOT complaint really helped me out also. That was the only reason they even cared to reply my claim. How do I submit the story to the blog?

    Wedding Trip Turned Nightmare

@Christina, yes, it does not even make sense that international trip has much lower luggage liability than domestic. I hope your luggage will fly with you on the same flight and nobody steals it by the time you arrive. I will pray for you to have a safe and smooth journey. And yes, I am glad...

    Wedding Trip Turned Nightmare

@VoR61 Yes, I agree. It is a major victory. Actually, I had receipts for all the designer bags and shoes and I submitted them. I also submitted the pictures taken at the wedding using those items. And even then, Southwest still denied my claim initially. The only thing I did not do was taking a...

    Wedding Trip Turned Nightmare

Hi everyone, I just got the Southwest claim settlement checks today. They gave me the max amount of $3500 and for my mother-in-law, $2622 for her claim. This seems to be quite a large amount that they gave out compare to other claim stories. But unfortunately, I still will not be able to replace...

    Wedding Trip Turned Nightmare

@VoR61, I sure will. I don't mind sharing the check amount. @LeeM, I'm not sure why they did not mention the amount of the checks also before mailing them out. But even with the depreciation, I don't think it should be less than 50% of what I claimed. A 50% depreciation amount is already a...

I would like to thank Neil, Christina, Patina, Carrie, Edward, VoR61, ADM, sas80, jsn55, Its Not Me for your advice and efforts put in to helping me out with resolving my problem with Southwest Airlines. I just got a chance to check my emails since I pretty much gave up on my claim with them...

That is a very good advice. Thank you so much.

    Wedding Trip Turned Nightmare

Thank you so much Neil. I will contact them through email as well as to executives at Southwest.

    Wedding Trip Turned Nightmare

Neil, All the emails Southwest sent me are from an address where I could not reply. So, the only way for me to send them a written form is through the baggage claim portal where I stated I did not want their vouchers to settle.

    Wedding Trip Turned Nightmare

I will definitely take pictures of the items in my luggage from now on. But of course nobody would have expected this to happen and even if it does, we would not have expected to be treated this poorly especially from a highly rated Southwest. Losing one bag is acceptable, but losing two is not...

    Wedding Trip Turned Nightmare

The guy from the article on Elliott's forum got a lot more reasonable offer when his visit to his daughter seems to be a social visit. And even his claim amount reached $3300 with the expensive camera and lens. And with those items falling under the category of Contract of Carriage item that is...
